Nobody knows if the ability to make his presence known is with intent. From the snicker of his lips to the arrogance in his stride, the floor must’ve done something for him to tread so heavily on it. Eyes on the prize, no turning back. Every word is a match thrown into his aura of gasoline. Raised brows and flicks of the wrist, a show of maturity in his character. Talking to him is like running a marathon. Chronic migraines. Something in his gaze says he isn’t bluffing. Chin always held high. Flaming hot if given a flavour.

He’s not blindー Perceptive. Reserved. Altruistic.

ーBut he may be stupid at times. Makes mental notes on everyone he meets and dog ears those who he thinks could be his friend. He’s more approachable than it seems. It must be my height, he thinks. It’s his quirk. Hears too much, sees too much. There’s the rare display of a grin that reminds people, ah yes, Frances is in fact one of them. Needn’t his response to rollcall be enough of a reminder? The more he knows, the more ground he has to stand on. The more he understands, the better he can improve. The more he knows, the more his purpose becomes clearer.

• He is on the.. Taller side of the scale. 6 feet and 3 inches, to be exact. It's no big deal as other students can be tall as an outcome of their quirk, but his is plainly due to genetics.

02.5: THE QUIRK

Quirk: Void.
Quirk Type: Emitter.

Effect: This quirk allows its user to create a zone in which any wave on the electromagnetic spectrum, light cannot enter. Frances is able to unleash his quirk within a 350-metre radius (for reference, the size of a sports stadium), affecting any individual within that radius as well. For those who are inside this “zone”, their surroundings will be pitch black ー meaning they cannot see. Its user, however, is not affected due to a thin layer of cells that exists in his eyes called the Tapetum Lucidum, allowing them to fully function in the dark. As a result of this, when light shines directly into Frances’ eyes, they appear to glow. In the instance of a battle, Frances will be able to move around freely to attack his opponent. To those who are outside of the created zone, it would just look as if there is a void space in the middle of the city. From afar it would look like this.

Drawbacks: Frances can maintain his quirk depending on the size of the zone he creates, but at current maximum capacity, he can hold it for around 20 minutes without pause. Overusing his quirk leads to temporary blindness, which he usually uses up his time in the infirmary to sleep. Fatigue is another major after-effect of his quirk ー he slept for a whole day straight after the Sports Festival of his first year, four in his second. As his quirk is related to the total obliteration of light, it is more effective during the day as compared to nighttime; nevertheless it will still obscure the vision of others.
